Argggh!

The site is running veeeeery slow. Over 1 minute to load a page. All other sites seem OK, has something changed?

Seems fine here. Perhaps it was some network latency or one of the other sites which run from this shared server was hogging all the server resources.

I wish I could afford a proper dedicated server, but as it stands over the last year just this tiny little server has already cost over £150 to maintain.

Still extremely slow here?

JackSparrow
that is strange because it appears to be running full speed from here.

according to my charts the server CPU is running at less than 1% utilisation...

I'll try rebooting the software, hold on.

is that any better?

Running OK now?

Off out on the razzle, I'll put an update on later. :)

Wazza
past few days the site has been slow loading, mainly once i've logged in, pages load quick enough but just the initial log-in, however today like rebonk says it has been really really slow and for most of the day i couldn't even get the site to load,

seems ok now though so hopefully it's sorted.

There seems to be some sort of bug with the sub-system underneath my code. On the old system it was my code all the way to the bottom and it always worked, but when I built the new engine I used some components designed by this asian lad called Tsushiko Miyagawa because the perl monks said they were McAwesome for performance.

All I did to "fix" the problem was restart the software rather than the server itself.

I'll have to have a look into the problem.

hrm, since resetting the server processor is now jammed at 18% utilisation. Something is definitely not right. Bah!!!

Ok I've swapped one of the lower level components out for another one that does the same thing but hopefully won't suffer the same problem. If it still occurs then I will know the problem is in my code rather than lower down. I will have to monitor the server for a while to know for sure.
