Body language can be very informative, but is open to misinterpretation if taken in isolation.
I always look for "triangulation" before making my mind up.
Interestingly, the missus and I often play games in pubs/restaurants etc. watching other people. It's actually quite easy to spot couples where there's been friction recently, and even easier to spot couples that ought not be out together!
