Nearly everyone in the world has heard the story of Jesus. The bible has inspired many works of fiction over the centuries, but how can we determine if Jesus, was a real flesh and blood man, or a work of fiction based on earlier mythological deities?

The Zeitgeist movies draw many parallels between the story of Jesus and the stories behind many of the ancient world's mythological deities, could the whole story of Jesus been nothing more than the biggest Hoax in history, or was Jesus really the one and only Son of God, who died for our sins and provided us all with salvation and everlasting life, as many hold as the truth to this day.

What do you think? Heavenly Hoax or Absolute Actuality?

somewhere in the middle? he was a real figure who's real name was yeshua - ben- joseph, the jesus christ is actually a title, cant remember the exact meaning of jesus... anyway... i think he was probably a highly enlightened individual who was initiated into the mystic schools and practiced egyptian funery rights with the olden day equivalent of our modern day masonic brotherhood and illuminati... he was the prophet of his time, the buddha or mohammed of his day... but the truth has been skewed throughout history to serve the purposes of a selfish and corrupt few.. jesus was the first coming and the second coming will be when the whole of humanity is enlightened as one into a higher consciousness

Only son of god, hmmmm... well seeing as i believe that humans are the genetic hybrid of apes and extra terrestrials and that these are the ones we naively refer to as gods then i suppose it's possible the et sent him to guide us, but humans being humans we nailed him to a cross.... as the son of an omnipotent super all seeing all being deity.. no i think not

I've been toying with the notion lately that the Bible is not just a fiction, but more like a memetical program, similar to a computer program.

The author apparently knew something of psycho-manipulation and the principles of cross breeding species and applying evolutionary pressure to humanity.

My theory goes something like this; there is a certain type of individual who goes around thinking they are god. They are highly predictable and there thoughts are almost always coloured by their cultural norms.

For instance a wannabe-god born in the days of the Vikings would think he might be Thor, or Odin, and thus will try and emulate the myths about that person to re-enforce their delusions about themselves.

The Bible utilises that understanding to give such people the "Darwin Award"... their own egomania guided by the cultural meme-set, causes them to "sacrifice their only son", by simply not having children. It also causes them to apply pressure to society by going along trying to martyr themselves at every available opportunity, like lemmings.

Over the centuries the genome which causes people to behave that way, the "NEO's" of this world, will simply die out as mankind evolves past it's infancy and the infantile drives which every religion in the world seeks to control and manipulate into propagating the religion forwards in time.

In southern Saudi Arabia there is a rock outcropping with a large natural cave in it which people call the Judas cave. Legend has it that Judas hid there at some point. The cave attracts a fair volume of Philipino's and others to come and see it. We actually went into it, and whilst it was nice and cool compared to the furnace outside I couldn't see anything that marked it out as special compared to any other cave in the world. The Saudi's don't seem to have any problem with it.

Also the Exodus appears in the Qu'ran as well as the Bible, so I really doubt they would destroy the historical site if that is what it is because it in part gives evidence towards the historical facts behind their own beliefs.

If you were stood on a mostly flat plane 10,000 miles square with hills and what not, you would almost always observe that you are the centre of the horizon, until you happened to wander close enough to the edge for your bubble of observation to overlap it.

The universe could be a trillion times bigger than what we can see, modern cosmology is so full of holes and guesswork that saying the visible universe is all there is is a wildly unfounded assertion.
