Sorry guys... I just fucked up big time.
I was trying to add the helicopter flash game as a comment so it could be played directly on the thread, and I accidentally over-wrote every single comment in the entire site. The data is fucked. I've tried to rollback the change, but it's not having it. The only thing I can do is pull the old comments out from the backup I made just before starting on this new server. I'm going to see if there is any other backups, perhaps the host backs the site data up. BAH!!!! All other data is still ok, usernames, passwords, respect points and so on. Sorry guys! I'm a fuckin noob I know... 12627 comments gone in a flash... :( :( :( |

I'm thinking perhaps it would be easier at this point to just clear the database out and start fresh.

Right ok... fuck it. I've looked at it and there is no way to bring that data back it's gone.
The server does have backups, but they are an optional extra for like $7 a month and they are not enabled by default... this is what you get when you can only afford a $20 a month hosting plan :( I'm going to clear out the fucked threads and then I'm going to write my own backup procedure that runs once a day so this can't happen again, or at least if something does go wrong again the loss will be limited to the last 24 hours. Sorry guys!! |
